'With all my respect': Oleksandr Zinchenko says striker Arsenal sold for £16m was better than Dennis Bergkamp

Arsenal have had some truly amazing strikers in the Premier League era.

The likes of Ian Wright and Robin van Persie are all-time greats, but there are two that stick out above the rest.

Indeed, Dennis Bergkamp and Thierry Henry are undoubtedly the two greatest Arsenal strikers of the Premier League era, and in a part of a TikTok challenge for StatSports, a few of Arsenal’s current players had to pick between the pair.

Martin Odegaard refused to give an answer on this one, but Oleksandr Zinchenko did ultimately pick Henry ahead of Bergkamp, stating that he did so ‘with all my respect’.

This is a debate that has divided Arsenal fans for years, and it will continue to forevermore.

Henry was undoubtedly better than Bergkamp in one area – scoring goals, but in terms of their all-round game, this is very close.

Yes, Henry had the speed, power and finesse, but Bergkamp and unmatchable ability to read a game and control proceedings in a way no other player for Arsenal has before or since.

Henry wrote his name into Arsenal’s history books by becoming the club’s all-time top goalscorer before joining Barcelona for £16m in 2007, but Bergkamp also produced some of the most special moments we’ve ever seen at Arsenal.

There’s a reason both of these men have a statue outside of the stadium, and, no matter who you prefer, it has to be said that both men are all-time greats.

Bergkamp vs Henry is one of the all-time great footballing questions and debates, and while Zinchenko did pick Henry ahead of the Dutchman, this one is very close and we’d hate to be put on the spot and forced to answer in the same way the Ukrainian was.

Bergkamp and Henry would both be incredible in this current Arsenal team, that’s for sure.
