New storm on the way

NJ weather - weekend storm to bring more heavy rain and strong winds

Forecasters say a new storm system drifting across New Jersey on Saturday is expected to drop a half-inch to 1.5 inches of rain across the state from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning. Although significant flooding is not expected, strong gusty winds will likely be blowing on Sunday and Monday, after the storm moves away from our region.

“There is a 30-50% chance that wind gusts exceed 45 mph, which may lead to sporadic tree damage,” the weather service’s Mount Holly forecast office said Thursday afternoon. “Given the already saturated ground, tree damage may be greater than usual with these speeds.”
