Exclusive: Chelsea plan to sell their ’priceless’ player, impressed with £40m Newcastle midfielder

Chelsea are ready to sell Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window and have been impressed with Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

HiTC understands that, as it stands, Chelsea are pushing ahead with their plans to sell Conor Gallagher in the summer transfer window.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are already looking at potential midfield enforcement.

HITC can reveal that Chelsea’s footballing department are doing work on potential midfielders, which is a clear sign that they are planning for a Gallagher sale despite the fact the player wants to stay and head coach Mauricio Pochettinho wants him to remain part of the team for next season and beyond.

However, Chelsea are yet to put an offer of a new contract to Gallagher, who has been described as a “priceless” player “with a great commitment to the team” by Pochettino, and unless they do, they will sell him this summer.

Outstanding French pair Manu Kone and Khephren Thuram are two players who Chelsea have been keeping tabs on. Thuram, 22, is starring for Nice in Ligue 1, while 22-year-old Kone is a star at Borussia Monchengladbach, whose left-back Luca Netz is on the radar of Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United.

A big-name arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window cannot be discounted either. HITC understands that Chelsea have long been admirers of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie De Jong and Paris Saint-Germain’s Vitinha.

Sources have also told HITC that Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is a player Chelsea are impressed with. The 26-year-old has been on the books of the Magpies since the summer of 2022 when he joined Lyon for £40 million (Sky Sports).

Bruno has established himself as one of the most important players for Newcastle and is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. The Brazil international midfielder has made 75 appearances in the league so far in his career, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in those games.
