Perrie Edwards sends fans wild as she drops major clues ahead of solo music

Perrie Edwards has teased her fans by sharing some huge personal news - but has thrown a ‘lie’ in her statement.

The 30-year-old singer is best known for being one of the founding members of the chart-topping band Little Mix \- finding fame via The X Factor way back in 2011 along with fellow members Jade Thirlwall, 31, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, 32, and former member Jesy Nelson, 32. The group went on hiatus in 2022 with the various members all vowing to go on to release solo material.

Now Perrie has teased she is on the cusp of unleashing her own debut single almost two years since she and her bandmates put their musical act on pause. Taking to social media on Friday, Perrie teased her fans as the week came to a close by hinting her debut single will be released very soon.

She posed against a plane white wall and recorded a video where she posed a trio of facts to her fans. She invited them to guess which two facts were true and which was a lie - but many have suggested the ‘false’ clue is a clue in itself.

Facing the camera, Perrie moved around to strike various poses while a series of statements appeared across the screen. The statements read: “2 truths and 1 lie about Perrie’s music… Perrie’s debut single is coming within the next 2 months. The track duration is 3:12. 1204 is not a real producer. Which one’s the lie?”

The short video clip sparked a frenzy of speculation - with many suggesting the third statement was a clue and not outright a lie. One follower responded to the post to state: “04.12 IS THE RELEASE DATE” suggesting the release date will be 12 April 2024. Another commented: “It can’t be a coincidence that 12/04 is a Friday!” - highlighting that new music is commonly released on Fridays.

While one impatient fan commented: “Perrie what are you doing to ussss we need the music now I can’t wait any longer.” And another typed: “I need Perrie's music right now.”

Last November, Perrie gave details about the music she was creating as a solo artist. She told fans via Instagram at the time: "I've met some incredible writers, incredible producers; people I've never worked with before. It's been really fun, I've loved it. It's been a very different process to being in the band. I think it's brought me out of my shell a lot; I used to use [Jade and Leigh-Anne] as my comfort blanket in the studio.

"It's quite intimidating, writing with amazing writers and producers in the room. If you have an idea, you're like 'what about this?' But then you feel a bit silly. I've had to come out of my shell. Going into the process, I sat down with my label and said 'I don't know if I want to write that much, I don't know if I'm a very good writer. I've always been with the girls."

She continued: "As the process went on and I started pushing myself more, I realised that I actually love to write music. That was a surprise to me. It's been nice to be [at my home studio], gaining the confidence to write my own music. Trust me, I'm desperate to give you music - but I just want to perfect it and make sure it's 100 per cent what I want to release and what I want you to hear. I'm cooking away, getting it all ready and I can't wait to share it with you."
