Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane can definitely beat Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga record of 41 goals in a season, coach Thomas Tuchel said on Saturday.

The England striker struck his fourth hat-trick of the German top-flight season in Saturday's 8-1 thrashing of Mainz to move onto 30 goals with nine games left.

"I trust Harry to do anything," Tuchel told a news conference. "He's doing what he's always done throughout his career. He scores, he's a role model, he's a great guy,"

Kane scored with his right foot, his left and with his head as his remarkable debut Bundesliga season continued.

"It's a joy to be able to coach him," said Tuchel about the €100 million ($109 million) acquisition, who also assisted Jamal Musiala with a perfect long pass and had the nous to get out of the way of Leon Goretzka's goal-bound effort knowing he was offside.

Kane said: "Currently, I feel good personally and as a team we're creating many chances. We still have a few games and I definitely want to keep scoring."

Sporting director Christoph Freund added: "Harry is a phenomenon with his goal rate. But it's also incredible how he works for the team."

All that is missing for Kane is a trophy having never won one with Tottenham Hotspur and England. Bayern look set to miss out on the Bundesliga title for the first time in 12 seasons with Bayer Leverkusen clear at the top.

The Bavarians are also out of the German Cup but have reached the Champions League quarter-finals after Kane's double helped beat Lazio in mid-week.
