Piers Morgan has not always been the biggest fan of Arsenal forward Kai Havertz, but the TV personality has recently changed his tune.
Kai Havertz has been scoring important goals for Arsenal lately and has become a star player for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Arsenal fan and TV personality Piers Morgan had called for Arteta to sell Havertz in the January transfer window and invest that money in a new striker.
Morgan has since accepted that he was wrong and has publicly praised the 24-year-old Germany international, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
Piers Morgan comments on Kai Havertz goal for Arsenal vs Brentford
On Saturday evening, Havertz scored for Arsenal yet again. The former Chelsea player found the back of the net in the second half of the London derby against Brentford.
The Gunners won the Premier League match against Brentford at the Emirates Stadium in North London 2-1, despite Aaron Ramsdale making a bad mistake.
As you can see below, Morgan knew that Havertz was going to score as Arsenal were building up.
Arsenal are now at the top of the Premier League table with 64 points from 28 matches.
The North London club are a point ahead of Liverpool and two points clear of defending champions Manchester City, who are third.
Liverpool and City will face each other in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kai Havertz now a big player for Arsenal
In my opinion, Kai Havertz has now become a big and important player for Arsenal. I do not think that manager Mikel Arteta can drop him.
Havertz is playing well when deployed as a false nine. He is scoring goals and helping in build-up play.
The 24-year-old has scored eight goals and given three assists in 20 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners this season.
