Gary O’Neil backs youngster

Many Wolves players have stepped up this season. After a disastrous summer which saw multiple players leave the club, few fans had hope for the season ahead.

Multiple Wolves players are having their best seasons at the club including Rayan Ait-Nouri and Toti Gomes.

However, one player who has not had much luck in the starting XI is Hugo Bueno. The wingback has barely featured this season, mainly due to the form of Ait-Nouri. Despite this, O’Neil has backed the Spaniard to make a big impact before the season’s end.

Another man who has had little luck this season is Pedro Neto. The winger has easily been one of Wolves’ most influential players this season and, as a result, has had a massive price tag slapped on him.

However, the winger has not been able to shake off his injuries this campaign. Neto had been out for two months in late 2023 and was forced off the field at half-time vs Newcastle. Then, against Fulham, the Portuguese international once again pulled up with a hamstring injury and came off in the first half alongside Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

After the game, O’Neil was ‘hopeful’ that the injury wasn’t long-term as the FA Cup quarter-final approaches.
