Luke Littler leaves fans in awe with 'absolute filth' after darts star gets 'sweetest revenge' over rival

Luke Littler got revenge over Damon Heta by putting in a superb display to reach the quarter-final of the Belgian Darts Open on Sunday.

The teenager produced a magical moment to check out 137 to win the match and progress to the last eight of the tournament in Wieze.

Littler is competing in his first European Tour competition after gaining qualification at a Tour Card Holder Qualifier in February.

He had an early start on Friday morning, flying to Belgium the morning after night six of the Premier League in Brighton.

The 17-year-old beat Jose de Souza in a thrilling last-leg clash in the first round on Friday evening.

Littler then overcame Krzysztof Ratajski 6-3 in the second round on Saturday after his Polish opponent attempted to put him off by drinking his water.

He was drawn against Heta in the third round, seven days on from their only other previous meeting.

The pair put on a stunning display in the quarter-final of the UK Open in Minehead, both averaging well in excess of 100.

Heta came out on top 10-8 on that occasion but Littler levelled up their head-to-head record in Belgium.

The Australian started strongly in a tight affair before Littler broke to lead 4-3.

Heta didn't win another leg as Littler saw out a 6-3 win, ending the ninth leg in sensational fashion.

Littler required 137 to win the match and first hit a treble 19 to leave him needing 80.

The young star then hit back-to-back double 20s to leave fans in awe and wanting to see more of the Littler-Heta rivalry.

One wrote on X: "Unreal match. The 137 take out was very fitting. This is becoming some rivalry." A second fan put: "Absolute filth."

While a third wrote: "Unreal game! Can these play each other every week?"

A fourth posted: "Can you imagine Damo played as well against everyone else as he does against Littler, he would be a top 5 player in the world."

Reacting to the win, Littler said: "I learnt a lot from the UK Open with me and Damo playing at a fast pace. I slowed myself down and kept myself concentrated.

"I just have to beat what’s in front of me and play the board."

Littler will now play Jermaine Wattimena in the quarter-final on Sunday evening, with either Ricardo Pietreczko or Jonny Clayton waiting in the semi-final.

Fellow Premier League stars Rob Cross and Gerwyn Price could meet in the semi-final stage.
