'Let's put it that way': Chris Wood stunned by something he saw during Nottingham Forest defeat

Chris Wood has bemoaned the decision by Michael Salisbury not to send off Jakub Moder as Nottingham Forest lost 1-0 at Brighton.

The striker was talking to BBC Sport after today’s defeat.

So, what has Wood said about the major incident that had an impact on Forest this afternoon? Let’s take a closer look…

What Chris Wood said about referee in Nottingham Forest game

Well, it would appear as though Forest have been absolutely stitched up once again today.

The challenge from Moder was frankly disgusting and had Neco Williams’ left been planted, it could have been very nasty indeed.

The incident happened in the second half and after a lengthy VAR check, it was deemed that a yellow card was sufficient.

Wood wasn’t best impressed after the final whistle but says Forest must look after the things they can control.

He told BBC Sport: “I haven’t seen it back so I can’t comment too much but from my position on the pitch it looked like he connected very healthily, let’s put it that way.

“If the referee gave red then it wouldn’t have been overturned. We have to control what we can control, we can’t control referees. We have not had much luck with referees this season.”

VAR is shocking and Forest will rue it this season

It’s becoming nothing but a joke now and Forest are getting sick and tired of the same stuff every week.

Cleary, Forest have to get their own house in order but ultimately, the team should have played around 25 minutes against 10 men here.

The challenge on Williams from Moder was a disgrace and the fact that someone watching it back and didn’t deem it a red card was ridiculous.

Forest didn’t find a way to score against Brighton today and once again it’s been a frustrating day.

The Reds now face Luton away and it’s a game that Forest can ill-afford or lose next weekend.
