If Donald Trump loses the 2024 election and is found guilty in any one of the criminal cases he faces, he will "see prison time," according to one legal expert.

Trump is currently facing state and federal criminal charges in connection with his attempts to overturn the 2020 election, "hush money" payments to an adult film star in a purported attempt to influence the 2016 election, and the stashing of classified documents from the White House at his golf club in Mar-a-Lago.

On Saturday, Trump's former White House attorney said he thought his former boss would move to eliminate his prosecutions if he wins a second chance at the presidency.

"But only if he wins. If he loses, he's going to jail," lawyer Ty Cobb said.

That clip was played on Sunday on MSNBC's Alex Witt Reports, and the host asked a legal analyst about whether she thinks Trump could go to jail if he closes in November.

"Yes," replied former federal prosecutor Kristy Greenberg. "If he loses and he is convicted in really either of the federal cases as well as the state cases, each of those are charges that carry jail time. If he is convicted in those cases, yes, he could see prison time."
