Collingham Football Club’s good run comes to an end against West Bridgford in the Nottinghamshire Senior League as a shock upset resulted

A good run of form came to an end for Damon Parkinson’s Collingham side as they went down 2-1 at home against West Bridgford in the Notts Senior League Premier Division.

Parkinson’s team had come into the match with 5-1 wins over both Keyworth and Greasly Rovers in what were strong performances.

Attacking dynamo William Hollingsworth had scored a hat-trick in each of the games which saw Collingham show why they are currently second in the table.

It was a shock as the hosts went down to the 15th side in the competition, West Bridgford Colts, who caused an upset.

If they had won the game against West Bridgford, it would have been the team’s fifth victory in a row.

The visitors got off to a good start in the 21st minute as Jacob Wealthall scored the opener.

The goal saw West Bridgford go into the break up 1-0.

They also scored first after the break as Conor Pauley netted in the 58th minute.

Tommy Dunderdale clawed one back for Collingham in the 69th minute to score his side a consolation goal but it was not enough for the hosts to collect any points from the effort.

Collingham will now travel to Woodthorpe Park on Saturday for their next league game, (kick-off 3pm).

In the same division, a derby saw Southwell Reserves get up over Orston and Ashlockton 2-0 at home.

Cotgrave who were on the road at Awsworth, came away with a point from the game after the sides drew 1-1.
