A German appeals court will consider railway Deutsche Bahn's effort to block an ongoing strike by train drivers in a hearing at midday on Tuesday.
A lower court in Frankfurt earlier rejected the state-owned railway's lawsuit to halt the ongoing strike, which has halted a majority of passenger and freight rail traffic across the country.
The Hessian State Labour Court announced it would hastily consider Deutsche Bahn's appeal of that ruling in a hearing set to begin at noon.
Deutsche Bahn is locked in a bitter labour dispute with the GDL train drivers' union, who are demanding shorter working hours in collective bargaining talks. This is the sixth strike the trade union has called in recent months.
