Alan Pardew comments on Arsenal star Declan Rice
Former West Ham manager Alan Pardew has been hugely impressed with the 25-year-old and he believes that the England international is the most important player for Arsenal in their quest to win the Premier League title this season.
Pardew said about Rice on talkSPORT, as transcribed by TBR: “All they’ve got to do is overcome this mental hurdle of what happened last year. All the stats are pointing that you’re good enough, you’re good enough, you’ve just got to see it over the line.
“The only thing I would add to that is the Rice factor. This kid has come in, sitting in front of the back two and has given them a stability and an assurance that they didn’t have last year. So if you’re an Arsenal fan, there’s a lot to cling on to.”
My View: Declan Rice is a gem
In my opinion, Declan Rice is one of the best English players around and has the potential to become world class.
I think that Arsenal are a better team with Rice in it. The 25-year-old is a very good shield in front of the back-four, and, when Jorginho plays alongside him in midfield, he can also go forward and make a difference in attack.
Rice is a very dynamic and energetic player who gives his all whenever he plays.
