Kobayashi and Kvandal win in Trondheim, Klæbo joy in Drammen

Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi won a men's ski-jumping World Cup meet on the Trondheim normal hill on Tuesday but Stefan Kraft stayed in command of the Raw Air Tour.

Peter Prevc from Slovenia came second ahead of Jan Hörl. Fellow Austrian and World Cup leader Kraft finished fifth to continue atop the standigs in the mini-series, which includes four competitions in Norway.

In the women's competition, Eirin Maria Kvandal of Norway celebrated her third World Cup victory. Austria's Eva Pinkelnig came second, just ahead of Nika Kriznar from Slovenia.

Kvindal leads the women's Raw Air Tour across the four different hills in Norway.

The series continues on Wednesday on the large hill in Trondheim and at the weekend in Vikersund.

The Trondheim jumps are new and were built for the Nordic skiing World Championships next year.

In other Nordic skiing action in Norway, Norwegian cross country skiing star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo claimed another sprint victory on home snow to keep alive his chances of beating countryman Harald Østberg Amundsen to the overall World Cup title.

Multiple world and Olympic champion Klæbo coasted to his 13th season victory and 81st overall in the classic style event in downtown Drammen, two days after winning the 50km race in Oslo. He led a Norwegian podium sweep from Håvard Solås Taugbøl and Even Northug.

Amundsen went out in the semi-finals and Klæbo moved within 157 points of him in the World Cup, with three races left at the weekend finals in Falun, Sweden.

A victory is worth 100 points and bonus points will also be available. Amundsen is still leading, by virtue of his Tour de Ski title in January, an event Klæbo missed due to illness.

The women's race was won by Norway's Kristine Stavås Skistad for a ninth career success ahead of Swede Linn Svahn and American Rosie Brennan.

Svahn moved within 102 points of American leader Jessica Diggins in the World Cup after Diggins went out in the quarter-finals.
