Report: What people inside Chelsea now fear about Conor Gallagher after claims Tottenham want to sign him

Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move to sign Conor Gallagher, and Chelsea now fear they’ll have to sell him for a bargain fee.

It’s not very often that you see a Chelsea player be so heavily linked with Tottenham because of the rivalry between the two sides, but Gallagher has been a wanted man at Spurs, and Ange Postecoglou could get him this summer for a bargain fee.

Chelsea fear £30m is the most they’ll get for Tottenham target Conor Gallagher

Conor Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season.

The 24-year-old is a fantastic footballer. He’s good with the ball at his feet, can have a real impact in the final third and has shown he can do the dirty work deep in midfield too.

Gallagher would give so many options to a manager, and that’s probably why Ange Postecoglou has wanted him at Tottenham for the better part of a year now.

It was claimed towards the end of the January transfer window that Chelsea would accept a bid of £50 million for Gallagher.

No move materialised then, and insiders at Chelsea are now fearing they will not be able to demand anything close to the above figure this summer.

GiveMeSport claim that people at Chelsea think they won’t receive any offers over £30 million for Gallagher in the upcoming window after he enters the final year of his contract.

That money would still help the Blues with respect to FFP and PSR, but everyone will agree that’s a really low figure in today’s market for someone as talented as Gallagher.

£30m for Gallagher would be a huge bargain

Conor Gallagher has all the characteristics you would want from a central midfielder.

The Englishman has four goals and seven assists to his name in all competitions this season. He has performed really well in what is a pretty average Chelsea side.

If Gallagher does move to Tottenham, we think he would develop magnificently under Ange Postecoglou. Spurs’ attacking system would suit him a lot more and he could thrive in the middle of their park.

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Gallagher this summer, but if Tottenham can get him for £30 million, we believe it would be an incredible bargain.
