Baseball: Dodgers' Ohtani hits 2nd homer of spring

Shohei Ohtani had three hits including his second home run of the spring Tuesday in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 6-4 preseason win over the San Francisco Giants.

Ohtani went 3-for-4 at Camelback Ranch outside Phoenix, lifting his preseason batting average to .579. After two singles to right field on some ferocious swings, Ohtani miss-hit a pitch in the bottom half of the zone for a fly that just carried over the wall in left for an opposite-field two-run homer in the sixth inning.

"Obviously today Shohei was the star. Just seeing what he can do with a baseball is pretty impressive," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said.

"His margin for error is so great and even his misses are back-side home runs, so (he is) pretty special."

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow, who has been named to start the Dodgers' March 20 season opener in Seoul against the San Diego Padres' Yu Darvish, struck out eight while allowing no hits over 5-1/3 innings.

"(Glasnow's) command was really great. They weren't getting a lot of good swings off him," Roberts said. "That was as good as it gets. He's had a great spring."

Japanese slugger Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, who is in spring training with the Giants on a minor league contract, went 0-for-2 with a walk.
