Suzanna Austin, development manager (Beds, Cambs and Herts) at FSB, said: “Congratulations to all 12 of the East of England FSB Celebrating Small Business award-winners. They are reflective of the vibrancy, innovation and tenacity that make up our community of 5.5 million small businesses across the UK.

“It’s been thrilling to see so many small businesses in the East of England enthusiastically take part in our awards. The sheer scale and diversity of those who entered is a testimony to their resilience and vitality.”

The FSB citation reads: “The NeuroSpicy Entrepreneur Club (NSEC) is a safe space for Neurodiverse entrepreneurs whose brains are wired differently.

“The business was established by Jemima Willcox, a neurodiverse entrepreneur who knew there was a need for a community hub for individuals to come together and connect, feel comfortable enough to open up, share their experiences and ideas with a group of like-minded people. The business is now a vibrant community for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and business professionals.”

Jemima Willcox said: “I feel immensely proud that NSEC has won the Diversity & Inclusion FSB Award. It not only gives validation to the belief that, as a neurodiverse entrepreneur, there was a need for a community hub for individuals to come together and connect, feel comfortable enough to open up, share their experiences and ideas with a group of like-minded people, but it also has a huge positive impact on my community.

“It means the world to be able to say we’re an award winning business, the fact that this award creates visibility for our community, enables me to be able to support them more. The mere fact that someone like myself, who is neurospicy, can be an award winner, helps remind people how important it is to create positive successful role models in the neurodivergent community."
