Defender Josip Stanisic has said he is not sure if he will return to parent club Bayern Munich in summer from a season-long loan to Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

Stanisic's agent Dieter Hoeneß has confirmed that Leverkusen have no option to make the move permanent but Stanisic left his future open ahead of Leverkusen's Europe League match against Qarabag on Thursday night.

"What happens after the summer is still up in the air. The current situation is that I have to go back. But football is a fast-moving business. We'll see," Stanisic said.

Munich born Stanisic, 23, went to Leverkusen to get more playing time than at Bayern. He had a difficult start but has played over the full 90 minutes in eight of their last nine matches, and scored the opening goal in their 3-0 victory over Bayern in February.

"Of course I am satisfied. I would be lying if I said no," he said.

Leverkusen are unbeaten in all their 36 season games to date, leading the Bundesliga 10 points, in the German Cup semi-finals, and aiming for a Europa League quarter-final berth in the return leg against Qarabag, after a 2-2 draw in Azerbaijan last week.
