23 goal contributions in 19 games... Chelsea wonderkid is in unstoppable form in 2023/24

It has so far been another extremely impressive season for the youth sides at Chelsea.

One player in particular though has enjoyed an insane campaign so far, notching up more goal contributions than games played.

As reported by Twitter user and expert Felix Johnston, Donnel McNeilly is averaging a goal or assist every 51 minutes this season, a record that on the face of it is absolutely ridiculous.

He will have improved on that even more with so with his performance yesterday, scoring all three goals in a 3-0 win against Brighton U18s.

The teenager, born in October 2005, has taken his talents to other competitions too. He already has four goals to his name in just 183 minutes playing in the Premier League 2.

McNeilly in fine form

Clearly an extremely special youngster, he is doing well to stand out at what is easily one of the most talented academies in world football.

The quality has only improved off the back of some of Todd Boehly’s signings joining the fray as they wait patiently for minutes with the first team.

One of those has been Deivid Washington, who Mauricio Pochettino actually hinted was in his plans for the rest of the season as an option up front.

Fast forward to now though, his only appearances have been with the youth team, although he has begun to find the net on a more regular basis in PL2 in recent weeks.

It remains to be seen if any of these extremely impressive young players are handed the chance to prove their talents as part of the first team.

It was thought thatTyrique George could be one of the young stars who represented the Blues this weekend against Newcastle United, however when the squad was announced he was not seen amongst the substitutes at Stamford Bridge.
