TV couple were 'doomed' from the start says dating expert - 'Filled with red flags'

EXCLUSIVE: There is a lot to unpack in the hugely-anticipated Love Is Blind season 6 reunion this March. After 12 drama-filled episodes, the couples – former and existing – sat down together to hash out a lot of what went down. A surprise romance emerged from season 6 and one reality star opted out of the show altogether.

Given the complexities of Love Is Blind season 6 and its couples, Reality Titbit spoke with Seeking.com dating expert Emma Hathorn to get her take on the relationship dynamics. She told us: “If you ask me, running down the aisle after six weeks is just too impulsive for the particular personalities in Love is Blind.”

‘Reality TV is lowering standards’

Love Is Blind season 6 was one heck of a ride for its contestants. Many viewers of the Netflix show took to social media to share their thoughts on it being “the best” season yet.

However, dating expert Emma suggests “reality TV is developing a lower standard for relationships in its hunger for manufactured drama.”

She adds: “What can go wrong when you take a staged environment, where people are already desperate for love, and then add further complications? A lot.”

Speaking of two of the Love Is Blind season 6 couples, Emma analyzed: “These are not fundamentally compatible people. In fact, they barely know each other.”

Her comments come after observing “Clay and AD’s Instagram comment of a greeting at the altar.”

Clay said: “OK, Body,” and AD responded: “Period,” which to the dating expert “felt inauthentic.”

She added how “Chelsea and Jimmy clashed on every point imaginable.”

‘Guarantee for a TikTok following and clout’

During the Love Is Blind season 6 reunion episode, Vanessa Lachey questioned Trevor Sova’s motives for appearing on the show.

According to dating expert Emma, the host isn’t wrong to do so as she believes “the Love Is Blind universe has become a guarantee for a TikTok following and clout.”

She adds: “Reality television has evolved to have less and less ‘reality’ each year— we watch these characters get famous overnight due to their relationship drama and embarrassment on set— to up the viewership rating.”

Emma has some dating tips for viewers at home: “Recognizing healthy behavior patterns through self-help tools, personal maturity, and realistic expectations within a short period would have saved these couples a bit of wasted time— think openness and honesty rather than a focus on on-camera personas.”

Love Is Blind season 6 couples: Chelsea and Jimmy

Evaluating Chelsea and Jimmy‘s relationship specifically, Emma tells Reality Titbit their romance was “doomed” from the start.

She explains: “The unhealthy coping mechanisms Jimmy displays throughout season 6 are no match for Chelsea’s anxious attachment style.”

Working her way through their relationship filled with “red flags,” the dating expert says Megan Fox-gate really could’ve taken its toll on their success as a couple.

Emma adds: “Jimmy had a particular expectation drop once he saw Chelsea for the first time. Her exaggeration of looks might have been the catalyst for the whole relationship to be doomed— she started things off on a misleading note. The only integrity saved was Jimmy’s ending the relationship before walking down the aisle – due to all the red flags waved during the few weeks of dating.”

While Emma believes Jimmy and Chelsea “would’ve settled for anyone in order to get their fairytale ending,” she adds: “Seeking.com has always promoted finding a match that suits you and clicks with you in a way that will bring you to a higher plane of success, both personally and within the relationship they simply wanted the idea of a fairytale and would settle for anyone in order to get it.”
