'The standout': Jamie Carragher shares who he thinks are the worst team left in the Champions League

Jamie Carragher has now been having his say on the easiest opponent left for Arsenal and Manchester City in tomorrow’s Champions League draw.

If City eventually won at a canter against FC Copenhagen, it certainly wasn’t so easy for Mikel Arteta and his side.

Arsenal found FC Porto to be an incredibly tough stylistic match up, a team who stopped their attacking play better than any opposition so far this season.

To that end, a lot of Arsenal fans now want to avoid Atletico de Madrid in Friday’s draw, believing they too could have a similar effect.

But perhaps it’s now at the stage where both Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta would be happy to face any team, even if they would prefer to avoid each other.

That being said, Jamie Carragher has now been discussing which team he believes would represent the easiest draw for either Arsenal or Man City tomorrow.

The English sides could face any of: Atletico de Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid.

A formidable list of names, but Carragher thinks there is one obvious standout.

Jamie Carragher says Arsenal or Man City will want to draw Borussia Dortmund tomorrow

Carragher was convinced that Borussia Dortmund were the worst team remaining, despite overcoming PSV Eindhoven last night.

Speaking on CBS Sports’ coverage, he initially said: “Dortmund is the team you would want, isn’t it?”

Carragher then added: “Looking at the teams there, Dortmund does stand out in terms of name [as the weak link].”

Of course, both Man City and Arsenal fans would probably agree with Carragher here, even if they are just picking the lesser evil.

Real Madrid definitely seem like the team to avoid, no one wants to be facing Jude Bellingham or Vinicius Junior right now.

That being said, Thierry Henry did actually name Man City and Real Madrid as the two strongest teams left when looking at the draw from an Arsenal perspective.

It’s certainly not going to be a draw to miss, and it will take place at 11am GMT on Friday, being held in Nyon, Switzerland.
