'For me': Thierry Henry now delivers Manchester City verdict as UCL quarter-final teams are confirmed

The quarter-final teams for the Champions League have now been confirmed – and Thierry Henry has delivered his verdict on Manchester City and their status in the competition.

City sealed their place in the last eight, beating FC Copenhagen 6-2 on aggregate.

Pep Guardiola‘s side were no match for the Danish giants, with their manager admitting City were just a different level and tipping them to go on and win the competition for a second year running.

Last night, Atletico Madrid beat last year’s finalist Inter, and Borussia Dortmund dumped out PSV Eindhoven.

They join City, Joao Cancelo’s Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Real Madrid and PSG in the quarters – and Thierry Henry is adamant Guardiola’s side are the team to beat…

The draw for the quarter-finals takes place tomorrow – and City will be feeling pretty confident.

There are some huge clubs in the draw, but Guardiola’s side are in fantastic form right now and have the capacity to comfortably beat any team left in the competition.

Last night on CBS Sports, legendary former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry gave his verdict on the teams left in the Champions League.

There is no doubt in his mind that City are top dogs and the team to beat.

He said: “You have two teams there that can be cocky. That’s Real Madrid and Man City. That’s about it. The others, you just take what you can take.

“Man City is the team to beat, still, for me. I know Pep, it’s not how he’s going to take it, I was just putting it out there.

“The champions can talk, Man City. And then Real Madrid, we already know they have 14. Other than that, let’s see what’s going to happen.”

City can win second straight UCL title

Henry is right – City are the team to beat in this year’s Champions League competition.

The big thing now for Guardiola’s side is that they have been there and done it, so there should not be as many jitters.

That experience will undoubtedly serve City in good stead, as they seek a second title.

Real Madrid are the biggest threats to City and if there is one club Guardiola would choose to avoid, it would probably be them.

But even if they are City’s quarter-final opponents, the players need only think back to that incredible semi-final performance last season.
