Mason Mount is a professional football player currently playing for Manchester United.

Mount made the switch from Premier League rivals Chelsea to link up with Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff around Carrington.

The England international came with a huge reputation already at such a young age, which was reflected in his price tag of £55m, making him one of the most expensive purchases in the club’s history.

It is believed that Manchester United offered Mount the number 7 shirt to underline how much the club valued his arrival at Old Trafford.

“I know the history and understand the responsibility that comes with this shirt,” writes Mason on social media. “The most important for me is to gain your trust and I will work hard to do that. I won’t let you down Reds!”

Why did Mason Mount leave Chelsea?

The reason Mount ultimately left Chelsea was down to a failure in contract negotiations with the midfielder.

Mount was keen to remain at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea reneged on a £200k-a-week contract offer to the midfielder.

Instead, Mount was offered a lower base rate and the club even tried to get him to sign a one-year deal with a £70m release.

With Mount refusing to accept, the club were forced to accept Manchester United’s third bid for the midfielder – and he was Old Trafford-bound.

The Sun claimed in 2023 that Mount is in a relationship with American model Claire Grossman with the couple spotted having been away on holiday together to the Greek island of Hydra.

However, it is believed that as of March 2024 – Mount is currently single.

Mason’s parents are Debbie and Tony Mount. His father, Tony, was a former non-league footballer who later coached local clubs

Little is known about his mother and the parents prefer to live a quieter life away from the fame that comes with the world of football.

Mason Mount stalker

Mount was involved in a case where he was stalked by a woman named Orla Sloan.

She was spared jail for stalking Mount and his former Chelsea teammates Ben Chilwell and Billy Gilmour. A court heard that Sloan had used 21 phone numbers to stalk Mount for four months last year after they had slept together.

She was handed a 12-week suspended jail sentence, a 30-day rehabilitation order, 200 hours of unpaid work, and a total of £1100 in compensation to be paid to the three Chelsea first-team squad players.

Speaking to The Daily Mail, Sloan was remorseful for her actions and said: “The online world is so removed from the real world.

“You don’t have the same sense of perspective because you’re just in your bedroom, on your phone. It doesn’t feel the same but, in reality, people are watching what you’re doing and it’s affecting their lives. What I did was wrong. I regret sending all those messages, hurting those people and their families.”

The stalking ceased following the legal procedure.
