‘The kid looks special’: Pundit says Todd Boehly has signed a really good player for Chelsea

Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly has signed a lot of players since coming to the club, but not all of them have been successful.

The Blues had a torrid campaign last season, and the London club have not really done any better under head coach Mauricio Pochettino this time around.

Chelsea did not finish in the top four of the Premier League table last season. The Blues will miss out on the UEFA Champions League players yet again this campaign.

One of the Chelsea players who has done well this season is Cole Palmer. Signed from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for £40 million, the England international has been consistently good and has been a bright spark for the London club. BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks rates him highly.

Palmer, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has scored 15 goals and given 11 assists in 36 matches in all competitions for Chelsea.

Stan Collymore praises Chelsea and England international Cole Palmer

And, as you can see below, former Liverpool and England international striker Stan Collymore has been impressed.

Collymore wrote about Palmer in CaughtOffside: “As for left-wing, I know Southgate has included Marcus Rashford and Anthony Gordon, but I would go with Cole Palmer.

“I know Palmer plays on the right for Chelsea, but he’s left-footed so can definitely do a job on that side of the pitch. He’s one of the most in-form attackers in Europe too so why not be brave and give him the chance? — I would — the kid looks special.”

My View: Cole Palmer is a gem

In my opinion, Cole Palmer is a gem of a player and he will be a star for Chelsea and England for years to come.

Palmer is only 21 now, but he has already established himself as a key player for the Blues.

True, it is not going to be easy for the youngster to become a regular for the England national football team right now, but he is certainly a player who can make a place for himself in the Three Lions’ starting lineup in the coming years,

I think that Palmer is going to develop and improve in the coming years. After all, he is only 21 now. He is not the finished article and can still add facets to his game.
