The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $792 million, with a cash option of $381.8 million.
If someone hits the jackpot, it would be the 11th largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.
The winning numbers were: 13, 25, 50, 51 and 66. The Mega Ball drawn was 6 with a Megaplier of 5X.
No one has hit the Mega Millions jackpot since Dec. 8, when two winning tickets were sold at the same gas station in California for a top prize worth $394 million.
While no one across the country hit Tuesday’s $735 million jackpot, second-prize tickets worth $1 million each were bought in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Each matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
Three third-prize tickets were sold in New Jersey, lottery officials said. A $30,000 ticket was bought at the Acme on Route 70 in Medford, the New Jersey Lottery said. It was purchased with the Megaplier option for an extra $1, tripling its value.
Tickets worth $10,000 each were bought at Oscar’s Gourmet Café on Route 513 in Califon in Hunterdon County and Pantry 1 Food Mart on South Broad Street in Trenton. All three tickets matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 2, 16, 31, 57 and 64. The Mega Ball drawn was 24 with a Megaplier of 3X.
The odds of a $2 ticket winning the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million. The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize valued of at least $10,000 are 931,001 to 1.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Saturday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $600 million with a cash option of $293.4 million.
