‘Very aggressive’: Timo Werner says he finds £42m Tottenham Hotspur player very tough in training

Tottenham Hotspur are doing extremely well at the moment, and one of the players who is playing his role for Ange Postecoglou’s side is Timo Werner.

Timo Werner joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window. The former Chelsea forward had the chance to join Manchester United, but he picked Spurs instead.

I think that it has proven to be a good decision. While the 28-year-old is not guaranteed a place in Ange Postecoglou’s starting lineup, he is actually turning out for a team that could end up in the top four of the Premier League table.

Werner has made five starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Spurs. He has scored two goals and given two assists in those games.

Timo Werner praises Tottenham Hotspur teammate Cristian Romero

Another player who is doing well for Tottenham at the moment is Cristian Romero. Werner has been hugely impressed with the £42 million (Sky Sports) Argentina international central defender and has noted that the 25-year-old is very competitive even in training.

Romero has scored four goals in 22 Premier League matches for Spurs this season. He has been shown a yellow card on four occasions and has been sent off once.

Werner said on the Premier League’s YouTube channel: “Oh it’s also difficult. Micky is very fast and Cuti is very aggressive in training, I think it’s probably Cuti because he likes to tackle and he’s very good at what he’s doing.”

My View: Tottenham Hotspur favourites for the fourth spot

In my opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to finish fourth in the Premier League table ahead of Aston Villa and Manchester United.

Villa are fourth now with 55 points from 28 games. Spurs are two points behind Unai Emery’s side, but they have played 27 matches. United are sixth with 47 points from 28 matches.

While Tottenham do have to face the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool between now and the end of the season, the North London club will also take on ‘lesser sides’ such as Luton Town, Nottingham Forest, Burnley and Sheffield United in the coming weeks.
