‘Absolutely’: Stan Collymore tells Manchester United to get rid of £300,000-a-week player

Manchester United are not having the best of seasons, and one of the players who is not doing so well for Erik ten Hag’s side is Marcus Rashford.

Marcus Rashford is a senior player in the Manchester United team and has huge expectations of him.

The £300,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international forward scored 30 goals and gave 11 assists in 56 appearances for United last season.

Rashford was expected to kick on this campaign, but he has failed to replicate his form from last season.

The 26-year-old forward has scored seven goals and provided six assists in 34 games in all competitions for Erik ten Hag’s side this campaign.

There have been off-pitch issues as well for Rashford this season, and there is speculation that he could leave.

The Mirror has reported that Paris Saint-Germain are ready to pay £75 million in transfer fees for Rashford, and former Liverpool striker Stan Collymore thinks that United should sell him for that money.

The pundit, though, does not think that Rashford should move to PSG in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United told to sell Marcus Rashford

Collymore told CaughtOffSide about Rashford: “Marcus Rashford could end up being the Red Devils’ hero later this weekend but his inevitable inclusion comes at a time when he’s once again linked with a summer move to Paris Saint-Germain.

“The Ligue 1 giants, according to the Mirror, are preparing to make an offer worth £75 million for the Englishman. Should United take it if it comes in? — Absolutely.

“However, for the player, I am not sure a move to France would benefit him as a professional. Ligue 1 is a dire league in terms of competitiveness. Paris Saint-Germain wins virtually every game like they’re expected to, but on the rare occasion when they don’t, all hell breaks loose. Is that the right environment for a player like Rashford? — I don’t think so.

“If he really wants to test himself and take on a new challenge and is open to moving abroad, he should be looking at Germany or Italy. The Bundesliga and Serie A are highly competitive and would certainly test him in all the areas France wouldn’t.”

My View: Manchester United should sell Marcus Rashford for £75 million

In my opinion, if Manchester United get £75 million for Marcus Rashford, then they should sell him in the summer transfer window.

That it is just Paris Saint-Germain who are keen on Rashford now shows the current situation he is in at the moment

If Rashford were that good, then you would have clubs such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich lining up for him.

But, it is only PSG. And, in my opinion, if £75 million is what they are willing to pay for him, then United should not think twice about accepting it.
