Tottenham Hotspur star Pedro Porro has been called up to the Spain squad, and James Maddison is delighted for him.
Luis de la Fuente announced his squad for La Roja’s upcoming international games against Colombia and Brazil at the end of March. Porro, who has had an amazing season at Tottenham, has deservedly got the nod.

Tottenham signed Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon in January last year.
The 24-year-old had a difficult first few months at Spurs under Antonio Conte. He was at the end of a ton of criticism at the time, but that is all in the past now.
Porro has been incredible since Ange Postecoglou took charge of the club. He is one of Tottenham’s best players now, and his performances since the start of this season have been nothing short of incredible.
Representing their country is every player’s dream, and Porro is no different. The defender has only ever played twice for Spain – his debut was back in 2021 and his second appearance came almost a year ago. Soon, there’s a chance he will get to win his third international cap, and he is delighted.
Porro took to Instagram to celebrate his call-up on Friday. A number of his teammates, including James Maddison, showed him some love.
The Englishman wrote “Deserved bro”, while Sergio Reguilon shared a similar sentiment. Giovani Lo Celso and Micky van de Ven were really happy for him too.
Porro has improved a lot at Tottenham
Pedro Porro was questioned a lot before the start of this season.
The 24-year-old’s performances at the beginning of his Tottenham career weren’t convincing, but Ange Postecoglou has managed to bring the best out of him.
Porro’s improvement over the last six months has been magnificent. He has provided eight assists for Spurs already, which is a club record that he should be really proud of.
Tottenham take on Fulham this evening and Porro is expected to start. We won’t be surprised if he adds to his assists tally at Craven Cottage.
