Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou shakes his head and gives sarcastic reply in prickly Sky Sports interview

Ange Postecoglou sarcastically accepted Tottenham's chances of finishing inside the top four were "all over" after their 3-0 loss to Fulham in a prickly post-match interview on Sky Sports.

Spurs were in prime position to move back into the Champions League spaces after beating Aston Villa last weekend.

But Tottenham were hammered 3-0 in a shock defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Postecoglou addressed the media after the game and was interviewed by Sky Sports' Emma Saunders.

Ange Postecoglou scoffed at the question

The Tottenham boss cut a frustrated figure throughout the interview as he stared at the ground when answering questions.

When it was pointed out that it was the first time in 39 games that Tottenham failed to find the net, Postecoglou scratched his head and replied: "It does go down as a bad day in the office but you don't accept it.

"We had enough chances to score. I don't think it was about scoring tonight.

"First half was even enough, but we let in a disappointing goal just before half-time.

"When they scored the second I felt like we just didn't get to grips with the game at all after that."

Saunders then asked whether the loss was a 'dent' to their chances of finishing in the top four.

Postecoglou scoffed and laughed before sarcastically replying: "Yeah look it's [the top four race] all over so we will just go for sixth.

"What am I supposed to say to that?

"We're what, two points behind Villa? What does that mean with 10 games to go?"

Ange Postecoglou shook his head and laughed

The exchange continued with Postecoglou asked whether they missed out on a 'chance to capitalise' on last week's result.

Postecoglou shook his head repeatedly before adding: "Psychologically I don't really worry about that stuff. It's 10 games to go. There is so much football to be played.

"If we had won today nothing was guaranteed. If we had lost last week nothing was guaranteed.

"It's 10 games to play so I don't worry about that stuff and never have.

"For me, It's not about just falling into a place in the ladder.

"We can finish fourth, great. Everyone's happy.

"It's nothing that hasn't been done before at this football club, it's about how we play. That's all I'm interested in.

"We were disappointing today so we're gonna learn from that, move forward and tackle the next game."
