Night Shahed raid in Odesa: Air defense downed over 10 drones, but some hit targets

Russian forces launched a night attack on the territory of Odesa region using Shahed kamikaze drones. Air defense forces shot down 14 enemy aerial targets, according to the Telegram channel of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine and the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"The enemy continues its insidious drone terror. Last night, Russian terrorist forces launched another massive drone attack on the Odesa region. The intense combat lasted for about three hours," the Southern Defense Forces reported.

Emphasizing that the strike drones were launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea. In total, air defense forces shot down 13 Shahed-131/136 drones in the sky over the Odesa region and one on approach in the sky over Mykolaiv. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the enemy deployed a total of 16 Shaheds.

Unfortunately, hits were inevitable. In the Odesa region, two mothballed agricultural enterprises were damaged: fires broke out, and industrial buildings were destroyed. Fortunately, the fire was promptly extinguished, and no one was injured.

Russian forces regularly target Odesa

Since the first days of the invasion of Ukraine, Russian forces have been striking Odesa and the surrounding region with various types of weaponry.

For example, on March 15th, Odesa was attacked with Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the arrival of medical personnel and rescuers, the enemy launched a second attack. Initially, dozens of casualties and fatalities were reported.

As of today, there are confirmed 21 fatalities, with over 70 people injured, some in critical condition. Among the casualties are employees of the State Emergency Service and medical professionals.
