Miss Polly’s, The Hurst Nursery which is attached to The Hurst School, has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted following an inspection on February 1

The nursery has been rated as ‘Good’ in all five inspection areas, with the inspector Chris Lamey stating “staff ensure the curriculum is ambitious and sequenced effectively to support children to make good progress”.

He said: “Parents speak highly of the nursery and particularly comment on how their children have developed their communication and confidence.”

Special mentions were also made in the report about how “support for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities is a strength at the nursery”, how “staff work well together as a team and share ideas and information about the children” and how “parents report that their children feel listened to and able to communicate regularly with their child’s key person”.

Nursery manager Parise Cox said: “I am very proud of our latest Ofsted report and would like to also thank the wonderful team at the nursery for their continued hard work and dedication.

“The paperwork required for Ofsted inspections was changed the week before our inspection was announced, but we were prepared and ready and are delighted with the outcome.

“Thank you also to our parents and most importantly to our wonderful children, who make every day enjoyable.”

Miss Polly’s has recently undergone a garden renovation, creating a new all-weather play area (featuring a roadway for the older children to ride bikes and scooters on) and a sensory area with a variety of different textures for the crawlers and pre-walkers.
