"Might have"... Paul Scholes sums up how every Man Utd fan feels after chaotic Liverpool victory

Manchester United are through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup – in what was arguably the best game of the season.

Erik ten Hag‘s mighty reds are on their way to Wembley. A 4-3 victory against their bitter rivals Liverpool means that United still have a shot at silverware in the 23/24 campaign.

It was a game of sheer and utter chaos. It was raining goals at Old Trafford, but thankfully the decider was scored by Amad Diallo – who has written himself into the history books.

Manchester United fans have had a very happy St Patrick’s Day – including Paul Scholes, who appears to be just getting started.

Paul Scholes celebrating in style after Liverpool win

After the 4-3 result was confirmed, the legendary Manchester United midfielder took to Instagram to declare what he was going to do after the victory.

He posted two separate stories on his socials, one more boozy than the next. The first stated: ‘Might have a shandy.’

The next stepped it up a level, with Scholesy jokingly (we hope) putting ‘And 42 black sambucas x’.

We fear for the former Red Devils midfielder’s liver if he’s being serious, but we don’t believe he is.

However, this sums up how every United fan feels. A game that delivered sheer and utter ecstasy, that deserves to be celebrated with a drink or two.

This is one for the history books for Manchester United

As far as famous cup ties go, you’ll struggle to find much better than this one. Manchester United were severe underdogs headed into the fixture, which made the victory ever the more sweeter.

Not only did United win, they came back from a goal down twice against a Jurgen Klopp side. Ten Hag deserves immense credit for how he approached the game. He went all guns blazing, and it paid off.

Whatever happens in the future with the Dutch manager, he’s given Manchester United some amazing nights, and this ranks up there as one of the best.

Bravo Erik, and drink up Scholesy.
