I saw Man Utd man work harder than most players at Old Trafford this season vs Liverpool, he was inspired - opinion

I was at the Manchester United vs Liverpool game at Old Trafford on Sunday night and saw some simply electric performances in what was a famous victory.

Manchester United are still alive and kicking in the FA Cup. And how. A famous 4-3 night at Old Trafford will surely go down in history as one of the most exciting cup ties United have ever featured in.

There was a sea of good performers. Diogo Dalot was immense, Bruno Fernandes was inspired and Alejandro Garnacho dazzled once more.

But it was one man who seriously impressed me, despite the fact he only took to the pitch for 35 minutes.

Amad Diallo, take a bow

Amad Diallo produced one of the most impressive cameos I’ve seen a Manchester United player have in many seasons against Liverpool.

Entering the frame at 85 minutes, the Ivorian winger brought a level of intensity that Old Trafford was simply crying out for on such a dramatic night.

He never stopped running. Admittedly, yes he was against tired legs, but I counted at least three times he sprinted back into United’s defensive half to reclaim the ball in extra time when it mattered most.

He was the one to win the ball back initially for his winning goal, passing to Alejandro Garnacho, who then played him back through in the 120th to which he slotted home past Caoimhin Kelleher to send the Stretford End into sheer delirium.

For such a young man, who hasn’t exactly made his mark on the club before, to come out and put that much heart and soul into a performance was simply incredible to watch live.

He was simply inspired, and no matter how his Manchester United career plays out, has given the Red Devils a moment they will never forget.

Amad Diallo has cemented a Manchester United legacy, no matter what

Amad is a player with an uncertain future around Carrington. He’s had little to no game time this season and has therefore not been able to make his mark.

Well, he’s certainly made it now. Being in and amongst it, you could genuinely tell it was a special moment around the age-old ground of Old Trafford.

Amad, was the player to give that crowning moment. United fans will never forget that. This performance will likely give him many more minutes heading into the end of the season, although he’s going to have to sit at least one game out…
