Mario Lemina sends Wolves fans message as Gary O’Neil gives honest verdict

Mario Lemina’s message

Saturday’s defeat to difficult to take for anyone associated with Wolves. Despite a poor showing, the hosts were four minutes away from an FA Cup semi-final until a very late Coventry comeback.

The Championship side managed two goals in the 97th and 99th minute to make it 3-2 at Molineux.

After the game, Lemina took to social media to state his devastation with the result. The midfielder claimed that the players ‘gave everything’ and the club now has to stick together to get past this result.

Pedro Neto – injury update

One crucial man who was missing on Saturday was Neto. The winger was forced off against Fulham as he once again picked up a hamstring injury.

It was a cruel blow for Wolves who have been amidst an injury crisis in 2024 with Craig Dawson, Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee-Chan being other first-teamers out on the sidelines.

After the defeat to Coventry, Gary O’Neil was able to provide an update on Neto’s fitness, expressing his doubts on a quick return for the winger.

Throughout the game as a whole, it was clear that Coventry deserved the win. Wolves just weren’t at it and the Championship stepped up and took full advantage of the situation. However, the victory was not without controversy.

The opener caused widespread debate after the ball appeared to deflect in off Ellis Simms’ arm. However, after a long VAR check, the goal stood.

After the game, O’Neil voiced his displeasure once again with VAR believing that the goal shouldn’t have stood.
