‘Weaker position’: The Esk claims Everton fans should be doing one thing to stop ‘bizarre’ 777 Partners plan

Everton’s season has been tarnished not only due to their poor form, but the manner in which business has been conducted off the field.

It feels like the Toffees have spent this entire term waiting, whether it be for a takeover to be ratified or a points deduction to be reduced.

The Premier League have showcased no real rush to aid the club, instead having actively contributed to another campaign of regression.

Well, should they now put the final nail in the coffin and allow 777 Partners to assume control at Goodison Park, their short-term efforts will be consolidated into a long-term plan of uncertainty and further unrest.

What The Esk said about 777 Partners

As one of 777 Partners’ biggest detractors, it should come as no surprise that on the eve of this new week, when we are expected to learn the outcome of their meeting with the Premier League, writer Paul Quinn has emerged to make his feelings known.

Better known as ‘The Esk’ on X, ever since a deal was struck in September he, alongside many investigative journalists such as Paul Brown, have done all they can to uncover the shady practises of the Miami-based firm.

After all, should they acquire the Toffees, they would become just one of many clubs already within their sphere of influence, many of whom have their own outstanding grievances.

Seeking to rally fan support, Quinn implores supporters to reignite their protestations, this time aiming them at 777 Partners. He writes: ‘Even in the bizarre circumstances that the Premier League granted approval (something that is not happening) 777 couldn’t solve Everton’s deepening problems.’

‘Our management demands and financial condition has deteriorated significantly at a time when 777 have lost many key management personnel and critically, their finances have deteriorated by an even greater degree.

‘So we now have a target company (Everton) in a much weaker position than previously being targeted by a company (777 Partners) whose capacity to provide solutions for Everton has reduced significantly and will reduce even further in coming months.’

777 Partners set for Premier League decision

We don’t quite know when, but at some time this week a decision is finally expected from the Premier League on 777 Partners.

Meetings have been ongoing for some time now in a desperate last-gasp bid to profess their proficiency as owners, despite having worryingly showcased time and time again that their financial situation is diminishing and their inability to govern the many clubs they already own.

So, adding one as tumultuous and unruly as Everton is unlikely to ease the burden, which should impact the impending decision.

However, with how the division has acted towards the Toffees this season, truly anything is possible.

It is now down to the Premier League board, with the club knowing that their financial future looks shaky regardless of the outcome.
