'He'll be ready': Pep Guardiola says £300,000-a-week Man City star will now be fit to face Arsenal

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed that Jack Grealish will return from injury to be in contention to face against Arsenal.

Grealish was on the bench in City’s 2-0 win against Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Manchester City attacker has been injured since sustaining yet another knock against Luton Town in the previous round of the competition in what has been a frustrating campaign for him.

After redeeming himself at the Etihad Stadium last season, the £300,000-a-week (Sport Rac) man was expected to do bigger and better things this campaign, at least individually.

However, that has simply not been the case, with Guardiola describing the 28-year-old’s ongoing campaign as a “tough season” for him in February.

Jack Grealish has done well against Mikel Arteta’s side in his last two seasons

Manchester City fans would be delighted to discover that Jack Grealish could start proceedings against Arsenal, as would perhaps Pep Guardiola.

The Englishman has shone when facing Mikel Arteta’s side in a City shirt.

In his debut season, one of Jack Grealish’s most encouraging displays emerged in the Sky Blues’ 5-0 annihilation of the Gunners, where he assisted Gabriel Jesus’ tap-in from close quarters.

Last season as well, in Manchester City’s 3-1 win against Arsenal, Grealish famously scored the winner at the Emirates Stadium.

While in the treble-winners’ 4-1 demolition job of Arteta and Co., the former Aston Villa captain gave Ben White one of the toughest evenings of his career, as he tore him to shreds every time he took him on.

City supporters will hope Grealish has another masterclass in store if Guardiola decides to start him in the heavyweight battle.
