Biden And Media Allies Stir Up Trump Hoax With Dishonest Takes On Ohio Rally Speech

Former President Donald J. Trump

President Joe Biden, the left-wing media, and Trump haters generally allegedly had a field day with comments the former president made at an Ohio rally on Saturday night.

However, as often happens, their criticism of former President Donald Trump was rooted in a lie.

To recap, Trump, at one point during his speech, said, “If I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.”

Liberals pounced. They argued Trump was calling for violence by his supporters.

Leading the way was Biden’s campaign, which said in a statement, “Donald Trump continues to praise dictators, promise to pardon political violence, and launch racist attacks against black and brown Americans.”

“This is who Donald Trump is: a loser who gets beat by over 7 million votes and then instead of appealing to a wider mainstream audience doubles down on threats of political violence.”

The Biden camp then claimed Trump wanted “another January 6” as well as an “affection for violence” and a “thirst for revenge.”

Biden’s media allies took the cue. According to the conservative WLT Report, NBC News, CBS News, Politico, NPR, CNN, the Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times all ran headlines with that phrase.”

Of course, that was misleading because that’s not what Trump said.

As the conservative outlet Trending Politics noted, Trump was discussing a trade war with China over car manufacturing and tariffs. His full comments were:

“China now is building a couple of massive plants where they’re going to build the cars in Mexico and think they think that they’re going to sell those cars into the United States with no tax at the border. Let me tell you something to China. If you’re listening, President Xi, and you and I are friends, but he understands the way I deal. Those big monster car manufacturing plants that you’re building in Mexico right now, and you think you’re going to get that, you’re going to not hire Americans and you’re going to sell the cars to us. Now, we’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those cars. If I get elected now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole… that’s going to be the least of it.”

Trump then added, “It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it, but they’re not going to sell those cars. They’re building massive factories. A friend of mine, all he does is build car manufacturing plants. He’s the biggest in the world. I mean, honestly, I joke about it. He can’t walk across the street in that way. He’s like, Biden, but for building a plant, he can do the greatest plants in the world, right? That’s all he cares about. I said, I’d like to see one of your plants recently. I said, I’d like to see where can we go? Well, we have to travel to Mexico. I said, why Mexico? He said, because that’s where the big plants are building. China’s building really big plants in Mexico and Mexico’s building. What about here? Well, we’re building much smaller plants here. Can you believe it?”

Conservative pundits rallied behind Trump, offering comments such as those posted on X by Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance. “Donald Trump said that a bloodbath would happen to the American auto industry if Biden kept on promoting Chinese-made EVs. He of course is 100 percent correct.

All other reporting about his ‘bloodbath’ comment is complete propaganda. The media should be ashamed.”

While most of the media did not seem interested in clarifying their dishonest headlines, at least one left-wing media figure backtracked after being called out personally by X owner Elon Musk.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough posted images of the J6 riot at the U.S. Capitol and then added, “Donald Trump’s America. And he is proud of it. Promised another ‘bloodbath’ if he loses again.”

Musk then replied, “Jan 6 was not a ‘bloodbath’ by any definition, and Trump was referring to job losses in the auto industry when he used that word. Your post is extremely misleading.”

Scarborough then deleted his post.
