If you’re feeling battered from a long weekend of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, then the McDonald’s Shamrock Shake might be calling your name. But be quick, because stocks won’t last forever.
On March 17, America decked itself out in green garb to celebrate the annual Irish holiday. This year saw a whole host of fabulous deals including offers from Krispy Kreme and an exciting giveaway from Oreo.
What is the Shamrock Shake?
On February 5, McDonald’s unleashed the green goodness of the Shamrock Shake in the earliest release ever. The drink was first created in 1970 and is comprised of soft-serve vanilla ice cream, minty green syrup, and whipped topping.
This year, the beloved fast-food brand also released an Oreo Shamrock McFlurry, which was a knockout on apps like TikTok and Instagram.
“Our classic Shamrock Shake® is made with creamy vanilla soft serve, blended with mint syrup and topped with a sweet, whipped topping. Or, for a hint of something different, try our fan-favorite OREO® Shamrock McFlurry®, which comes blended with crushed OREO® cookies,” they said at the time.

When is the drink leaving the McDonald’s menu?
With St. Patrick’s Day not behind us, some fans have been left wondering when the Shamrock Shake will shake off its wings and disappear for another year.
Unfortunately, an exact date is yet to be revealed as it’s understood restaurants will continue to serve the Shamrock until they run out of stock.
