Five children died after a silo wall fell on their tent in Syria

Five children died and eight others were wounded in north-west Syria when a grain warehouse wall collapsed on a tent where they were doing a religious lesson, a monitor group said on Monday.

The collapse occurred due to the heavy rain in the town of Sarmada in the country side of Idlib, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The children were memorizing verses from the Muslim Holy Quran when the incident took place, it said.

Many of the injured were taken to hospital for treatment, the watchdog said.
