Wolves are reportedly chasing Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah ahead of the summer transfer window.
Gary O’Neil was unable to bring in a centre-forward in January, with the club very much restricted financially.
There was a late attempt to land Armando Broja on loan from Chelsea, but the asking price the Blues had set was just too high. In the end, the youngster joined Fulham.
O’Neil was therefore required to press ahead with only Matheus Cunha and Nathan Fraser as his striker options, after loaning out Sasa Kalajdzic and Fabio Silva.
Wolves’ hunt for a new striker will resume in the summer, but it looks as though the club may already be getting to work…

TEAMtalk have reported today that Wolves are among the teams showing an interest in Nketiah.
The 24-year-old is currently on the fringes at the Emirates Stadium, and has not started a Premier League game since November.
Mikel Arteta has preferred the likes of Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard through the middle. Nketiah has made 33 appearances across all competitions, but for a total of 1360 minutes.
Nketiah is a player Wolves are keeping tabs on according to TEAMtalk, with his agents said to be working hard to try and find the best possible option for him in the summer.
He is under contract at the Emirates until the summer of 2027.
Nketiah could be a great signing
This may be something to keep an eye on, because Nketiah could make a great addition for Wolves.
The £100,000-a-week star has never really been a regular at Arsenal, especially when all of Arteta’s other options have been fit to play.
But he’s scored 38 goals in 164 appearances for the Gunners which does show some goalscoring prowess, and he’s also laid on 10 assists.
Perhaps he could really thrive under O’Neil, as so many other players already have at Molineux.
He’s got something about him. Thierry Henry mentored Nketiah when he worked with the Arsenal U18s and has previously said of him (via The Chronicle): “He will always score goals, even when he’s 60. He is just a killer in the box, as he showed against Norwich.
“He is just lethal in front of goal. He doesn’t need many chances. If that guy plays, he scores. Simple.”
Arsenal will have a price in mind, but maybe he’s someone O’Neil would like the club to pursue.
