Report: Ange Postecoglou 'has made it clear' that he doesn't want 23-year-old Tottenham man in his side anymore

Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou does not have Bryan Gil in his plans for the future.

The North Londoners have had a fine season in the Premier League, but they’re still nowhere near where they should be. Postecoglou knows he has to change a lot of things this summer, and Gil’s Tottenham career could be about to end.

Ange Postecoglou does not want Bryan Gil at Tottenham

Tottenham signed Bryan Gil in a player-plus-cash swap deal from Sevilla back in the summer of 2021.

The Spaniard was one of the most exciting young talents in Spain at the time. He was linked with a whole host of big clubs, but Spurs won the race for his signature in the end.

Gil is a really talented player, but for one reason or another, things aren’t working out for him at Tottenham. There are multiple players ahead of him in the pecking order, and there have been no signs that he could actually nail down a place for himself in the side.

The 23-year-old has played just 221 minutes of football in all competitions this season. He didn’t even make the squad in Spurs’ last three games, which should tell you all you need to know. He’s clearly not happy at the club.

Estadio Deportivo have shared the latest on Gil’s future, and they claim that Ange Postecoglou has ‘made it clear’ that he is not counting on him.

The Spurs boss has no interest in keeping hold of Gil beyond the end of this season, which means the winger is almost guaranteed to leave the club this summer.

Gil has not lived up to the hype at Tottenham

Bryan Gil came to Tottenham as a player with immense potential.

He was hailed by many as a technically outstanding player who was hugely versatile and could become an absolute superstar in the coming years.

However, after nearly three years on Tottenham’s books, it’s safe to say that Gil has failed to live up to all the expectations. He just hasn’t developed into the player Spurs thought he would be.

A move away in the summer looks very likely now, and it would be the best thing for all parties involved.
