'I can't ignore': Carlton Cole says Man City have a player who he prefers to Jude Bellingham

Carlton Cole has named two Manchester City stars in his top three player list, with one just beating out Jude Bellingham.

Manchester City will come up against Jude Bellingham for a third time next month as they take on Real Madrid in a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final.

Pep Guardiola is already well aware of what the midfielder is capable of after he scored a fine goal for Borussia Dortmund in the group stages at the Etihad last season.

Two stunning strikes from John Stones and Erling Haaland turned things around for City that day but it’ll be tougher against Los Blancos.

Bellingham has gotten even better since moving to the Spanish capital in the summer, with 20 goals and nine assists already to his name.

Yet, former West Ham striker Carlton Cole prefers Phil Foden to him.

Phil Foden over Jude Bellingham

Speaking to ESPN UK on TikTok, Cole said when asked for his top three players: “Favourite player? I’ve got to say [Lucas] Paqueta.

“Definitely, he’s up there for me.

“Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden.

“But, I’d love Bellingham as well but Phil Foden. There’s something about his touch that I can’t ignore.”

We might soon see them combine

Hopefully, we will soon see Foden and Bellingham come together on the pitch.

England take on Brazil and Belgium in friendlies this week as they prepare for this summer’s Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.

The two stars are certain to be central to Gareth Southgate’s plans and it’s exciting to see them play together when they’re both in such great form.

It would be fantastic if they lined up in the same midfield, alongside Declan Rice, but in all likelihood, Foden will placed on the flank.

There could still be ample opportunities for them to create magic, though.
