Tottenham showing interest in 24-year-old Real Madrid player who’s been compared to Lionel Messi

Tottenham Hotspur are showing an interest in the Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Diaz ahead of the summer.

Prising the Moroccan away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer may prove an extremely difficult task.

But he is a player who is on the radar of a number of Premier League clubs already.

Tottenham keen on Brahim Diaz

According to transfer guru Graeme Bailey for HITC Football, Spurs are just one of the clubs who are showing an interest in the 24-year-old.

Ange Postecoglou’s side are not alone in their interest in Diaz, though, with a number of other Premier League sides keen.

Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal are also credited in the report.

But it is suggested the midfielder does not plan on moving away from the Spanish capital.

The midfielder made his return to the Bernabeu last summer having spent three years away from Madrid on loan with AC Milan.

This is a player who is already extremely well travelled having been purchased by Madrid from Manchester City back in 2019.

But he has returned to Carlo Ancelotti’s side and been able to make some impact despite the serious levels of competition he faces.

This season Diaz has been able to rack up 33 appearances across all competitions where he has provided nine goals and four assists.

Five of those goals have come in La Liga where he has been able to earn himself 12 starts.

The midfielder’s stunning solo goal in the Champions League against RB Leipzig in February saw him receive some huge compliments.

Michael Owen even labeled his goal as “Messi-esque” in TNT Sports coverage of the Last 16 clash.

This is clearly a player who is considered very highly by those in the Premier League, but any possibility of a move this summer will require Spurs to fend off some serious competition.
