Report: Whether Nottingham Forest expect to pass when next PSR figures are due

There is never a quiet day at Nottingham Forest and today is no exception amid a four-point deduction for breaching PSR guidelines.

Now, a report has delivered a verdict on how Forest might sit when the next cycle is reviewed and whether or not the Reds might be in trouble again.

Forest have now dropped into the relegation zone. The Reds are a point below Luton with just nine games remaining of the campaign.

Whether Nottingham Forest will breach the next PSR check

Well, it does seem as though there are contrasting claims being made when it comes to answering this question.

The Athletic has claimed that Forest should be fine for the next check. Orel Mangala and Gustavo Scarpa have already been sold, with the club making a profit.

It’s believed the club expect to fall well within the allowed losses for the financial year that will end in June.

The Sun, however, released an article today suggesting that Forest will need to sell a star player for around £30 million before 30th June if they’re to comply.

Forest have to learn valuable lesson

It’s frankly ridiculous that the football club has allowed this situation to spiral so much. Now, a busy summer looks to be on the cards whether Forest stay up or not.

Evangelos Marinakis isn’t happy at the outcome, with Forest likely to appeal. However, he will look back on this scenario with some regret it would seem.

A number of players need to leave the club and ultimately quality over quantity has to be the order of the day for the transfer market.

It’s interesting that one publication thinks Forest will be fine, yet another believes that they could risk another points deduction next season.

Ultimately, the entire situation has descended into a farce from a Forest perspective and a more prudent approach to recruitment is definitely required.
