Belgorod authorities decide to evacuate 9,000 children amid repeated shellings

He traditionally blamed the attacks on the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

“We are evacuating a large number of villages today, we are currently planning to evacuate about 9,000 children from Belgorod, Belgorod District, Shebekino District, and Graivoron District,” Gladkov alleged.

“1.2 thousand children will go to Penza, Tambov, Kaluga and Stavropol Oblasts on March 22.”

Russian volunteers from the Freedom of Russia Legion, the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK), and the Siberian Battalion announced a new operation in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast on March 12.

The RDK claimed to have advanced several dozens of kilometers and taken prisoners. Moscow reported casualties among the Russian army.

Shopping centers will be closed for a few days and classes will be suspended in schools in Belgorod and nearby settlements, Gladkov said on March 16.

The fighters of the Siberian Battalion called on the Belgorod residents to temporarily leave the city due to the threat of artillery fire on military facilities of the Russian Federation.

Russian city of Belgorod came under fire on March 19. Eyewitnesses reported an alleged hit to a private house and parking lot.
