Crash on M2 between Sittingbourne and Gillingham causing delays for drivers

Motorists are facing delays on the motorway after a crash.

It happened on the London-bound carriageway of the M2 between Junction 5 for the Stockbury Roundabout at Sittingbourne and Junction 4 for Gillingham.

Congestion is currently all the way back to the A249 near Bobbing.

All lanes have reopened following the collision but there are delays in the area.

Yesterday, the same junction was causing heavy traffic after weekend roadworks overrun.

The M2 London-bound entry slip road was shut at Junction 5 for the A249 Stockbury roundabout in Sittingbourne on Monday morning despite works being scheduled to finish on Sunday.

Vehicles were seen queuing back to junction 4 for Gillingham. The junction reopened at 1pm.

Police have been asked for more information.
