‘This summer’: Alasdair Gold has already heard clubs may bid for Tottenham’s £60m player

Last summer was a big period in terms of transfers at Tottenham.

Harry Kane left the club while a number of new players were signed during Ange Postecoglou’s first transfer window with the club.

The next transfer window is approaching at a rapid rate, and it will be interesting to see what sort of business Spurs do this time around.

There are bound to be more incomings, but with the squad becoming more and more bloated, perhaps there could also be some sales.

Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing the future of Richarlison, and he says that all the indications he’s hearing seem to suggest that another bid from a Saudi club could be imminent.

Saudi bids for Richarlison could come in

Gold shared what he knows about the £60m Brazilian and his future.

“I’m intrigued to see what happens with Richarlison this summer. All the indications seem to be that there could be another bid coming in from a Saudi club. Let’s say you get your money back, £60m, would you take it?” Gold said.

Should Tottenham sell?

If a big bid for Richarlison does come in this summer, Tottenham will have a very interesting decision to make.

The Brazilian, all in all, hasn’t been worth the £60m Spurs paid for him last summer, but, at the same time, during the early parts of 2024 he’s shown plenty of promise and is actually starting to look like a top player for Spurs.

Spurs need to figure out whether or not his recent form is just a purple patch or if it’s a sign that Richarlison has turned a corner and is ready to become a star for the north London club.

If a big money bid comes in for Richarlison, Spurs will have a very difficult decision to make this summer.
