'It's clear...' Fabrizio Romano says £30m Arsenal star 'will look' soon for a new club

Fabrizio Romano has said Aaron Ramsdale will soon look for a new club with the Arsenal goalkeeper set to leave north London this summer.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper this season lost his starting place to David Raya with Mikel Arteta expected to sign the Spanish international for good in the coming weeks from Brentford.

With Raya impressing between the sticks and Ramsdale as good as he is, the £30m star will need to find a move if the England goalkeeper is to continue his promising career.

And according to transfer guru Romano, Ramsdale will soon begin looking for a new club, with the goalkeeper market expected to be an intense one this summer.

Romano said when asked about what Ramsdale will do this summer: “It’s clear that Aaron Ramsdale is not going to accept being the backup goalkeeper at Arsenal forever.

“Ramsdale is being super serious, professional and respecting his teammates and respecting Mikel Arteta, Arsenal and the fans as he’s behaving in a fantastic way. But, it’s clear he wants to play football, so the expectation is that Aaron Ramsdale will look for opportunities in the summer.

“At the moment, there’s nothing concrete, but the goalkeeper market is like a domino, so you have to wait for one club to make a move or a goalkeeper to make a move, look at the situation of De Gea, who is still a free agent, this is the market, though, and this is why Ramsdale will look for opportunities.”

With Raya’s transfer set to become permanent and rumours now emerging over who Arsenal could sign to replace Ramsdale, it’s clear that the England international is leaving north London soon.

The 25-year-old and many Arsenal fans never would have expected Ramsdale to be departing this summer given how good the goalkeeper has been for the Gunners in the last three years.

Yet football is a cruel game at times, and for Arsenal, they will be hopeful about getting a good fee for Ramsdale, who will have many suitors this summer for the right price.
