Reporter hints Manchester United are interested in 'incredibly fast' attacker, release clause explained

Manchester United may be looking into a move for Hoffenheim forward Maximilian Beier ahead of the summer transfer window.

The summer transfer window is still a couple of months away but United are still being linked with potential signings.

We have seen Michael Olise’s name mentioned on a fairly regular basis with the Crystal Palace wide man seemingly a key target.

United may look a little afield though with Bundesliga forwards being linked with moves to Old Trafford.

Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen has been mentioned but Hoffenheim’s Maximilian Beier may now be a name to keep tabs on.

Maximilian Beier could be on Manchester United radar

Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg now claims that interest in Beier is mounting.

Plettenberg claims that all of the Premier League’s top eight clubs are interested in Beier – which would include United.

Dortmund allegedly aren’t pushing for Beier’s signature despite speculation linking Malen with a departure.

Beier has hit 12 goals in 25 Bundesliga games this season, emerging as a dangerous striker who can also play out wide if needed.

The 21-year-old has big potential and he appears to be on United’s radar if Plettenberg is to be believed.

What is Beier’s release clause?

Plettenberg notes that Beier can leave Hoffenheim for a fixed fee this summer.

The price in Beier’s release clause is understood to be around €30million (£26million), potentially putting him in United’s price range.

Plettenberg also thinks that Beier may announce his intention to lead Hoffenheim before the European Championships.

Whether United would jump in and pay that clause before Euro 2024 starts remains to be seen but the reasonable price could be tempting.

What has been said about Maximilian Beier?

Beier has been praised for his pace and work rate whilst emerging with Hoffenheim.

Boss Pellegrino Matarazzo has praised Beier’s development this season as ‘extraordinary’ having gone from strength to strength.

Hoffenheim sporting director Alexander Rosen absolutely loves Beier, praising him as ‘incredibly fast’ and ‘extremely talented’.

Beier has been tracked as the 15th-fastest player in the Bundesliga this season, even ahead of Bayern Munich sensation Mathys Tel.

That kind of speed would be welcomed at United and scouts will surely keep a very close eye on him ahead of the summer transfer window.
