Arsenal eye 16-goal striker as Foster shares what Ramsdale really thinks of teammate

A round-up of the latest Arsenal news as Mikel Arteta eyes a striker’s transfer and Ben Foster shares what Aaron Ramsdale really thinks of his Gunners teammate Ben White.

Arsenal weigh up a bid for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak

Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak is attracting interest from Arsenal and Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window. That is according to the Express, which notes that the Gunners ‘could be tempted’ to table the Magpies an offer once the market is open.

North London chiefs are weighing up a move for the 24-year-old with manager Mikel Arteta eager to target a striker. Arsenal have retained a long-standing interest in Isak and may take advantage of Newcastle’s potentially difficult finances with the striker on 16 goals this term.

Isak has further scored 12 of the Sweden international’s goals in 20 Premier League fixtures this term. He has missed seven top-flight games due to a recurring groin injury. But the 42-cap attacker’s fitness issues are yet to put Emirates Stadium chiefs off his potential transfer.

Bayern star Joshua Kimmich is open to a transfer to Arsenal

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich is prepared to consider a transfer to Arsenal this summer. That is according to Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Der FCB also are open to the 29-year-old’s departure. He enters the last year of the German’s contract in the summer.

Kimmich last put pen to paper on new terms at the Allianz Arena in August 2021 and is now open to offers from elsewhere. He does not rule out entertaining interest from Arsenal plus Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid. But Der FCB are still to set his price.

Interest at Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain does not appeal, right now, to Kimmich. While Plettenberg adds that some of the five squads he would consider joining have already made contact. Any deal would end his trophy-laden nine-year spell in Bavaria.

Ben Foster shares what Aaron Ramsdale thinks of Ben White

Ben Foster has revealed what Aaron Ramsdale really thinks of Ben White following claims of the Arsenal defender not getting along with all of his teammates. It follows Whites’ decision to make himself unavailable for selection to England manager Gareth Southgate this month.

Arsenal sporting director Edu informed England ahead of Southgate naming his March team that White did not want to be selected. The 26-year-old has not made any Three Lions side since leaving the 2022 World Cup early. But his form put him in contention for a likely recall.

White has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent right-backs at either end of the field this term. And Foster claims Ramsdale, who made Southgate’s squad to face Brazil and Belgium, believes White is nothing but a ‘top, top lad’ and rubbishes suggestions of any riffs.

“There’s loads of stories out there about him not getting on with all the players,” Foster told Fozcast. “I spoke to Aaron Ramsdale about it and he said, ‘He’s a top lad. Ben White is a top, top lad. Don’t worry about anything like that, none of it is true. He’s just a top lad’.”
